Missouri corn researchers say planting more seeds won't always give you more yield.

The results of statewide testing were presented at the University of Missouri Extension Crop Management Conference.

USDA initiative to reduce rural poverty expands

A program dedicated to reducing poverty in rural America is expanding.

The United States Department of Agriculture says areas in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia and Louisiana will be added to StrikeForce for Rural Growth and Opportunity.

The program started in 2010 and is credited with $9.7 billion in investment for rural communities in 20 states.

Organizations help solve food problems

How many organizations can you think of that help solve problems like hunger, food waste, obesity or poverty?

Food Tank, which is described as dedicated to fixing the food system, compiled a list of 101 organizations to keep an eye on that do just that – and then did it again with reader recommendations.
