Buck Brannaman featured on Equestrian Nation, 3-part series premieres April 2
Legendary horseman discusses learning from Ray HuntImmediate Release
March 28, 2014 (Omaha, Neb.) – RFD-TV’s Equestrian Nation will feature a 3-part series with legendary horseman Buck Brannaman premiering on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Brannaman was the technical consultant in the 1998 movie “The Horse Whisperer” working alongside Robert Redford. The movie was based off the novel written by Nicholas Evans, in which one of the characters was inspired by Brannaman.
The film “Buck” was an award winning documentary of Brannaman’s life and premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. For over 30 years Brannaman studied the natural horsemanship training method and shares his personal experience on Equestrian Nation. Natural horsemanship was first introduced by the late Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and Bill Dorrance.
“The three part series is about getting to know who influenced Buck and his opinions on horses and life. This is an in-depth interview where you really get to know him personally. Our production crew traveled to his ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming. We then caught up with him at his clinic in Colorado to finish filming the series,” said Dan Weyand, the executive producer of Equestrian Nation.
Part II and Part III of the series airs April 9 and April 16. Equestrian Nation airs regularly on RFD-TV Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. (EST) with repeats at 10:30 p.m. (EST) and the following Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. (EST). The show also airs on FAMILYNET on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. (EST).
Throughout the series, footage from “The Horse Whisperer” with Redford and producer Patrick Markey will be featured as they work with Brannaman, explained Weyand.
