Get to Know Anchor Casie Mason

Whether it’s anchoring, hosting live interviews from the red carpet, or spending time with family, Casie Mason lives a vivacious and exciting life that always keeps moving. But she never misses an opportunity to acknowledge her family for their continuous motivation, no matter where the road takes her.

Born and raised in Princeton, Indiana, Casie grew up in Gibson County where she experienced small town life in the Midwest. Music was a big part of her upbringing and Casie sang country music with her family regularly.

From hitting the stage performing musicals or by the campfire with Dad, Casie has deep musical roots that drove her to Music City and RFD-TV.

After high school, Casie attended the University of Southern Indiana and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Radio and Television Broadcast. She kickstarted her career in television broadcasting as a college student with her first on-air experience anchoring for her college newscast at only 20 years old. Her remaining years of college, Casie balanced school hours while interning at a local ABC news affiliate, WEHT-WTVW Eyewitness News. After a short internship, WEHT offered Casie her first full-time position as a news reporter.

She began as a weekend reporter and after graduation transitioned into full time news reporting while also anchoring. At WEHT, Casie found herself doing it all from filming, editing, writing and producing – to reporting daily content and anchoring. After two years with WEHT, Casie was offered the opportunity to reconnect to her rural roots and move to Nashville, Tennessee, to anchor MARKET DAY REPORT at RFD-TV and RURAL RADIO.

While Casie is just beginning her career in broadcasting, her work has already been featured on several major networks including Good Morning America, where she worked as a freelancer reporter, and on CNN’s Headline News.

In addition to anchoring, Casie also has a passion for reporting live entertainment and country music. In the past year, she has interviewed celebrities such as Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Aubrey Anderson Emmons from ABC’s Modern Family, and country music stars at the 2013 and 2014 Country Music Awards, including musical acts such as Garth Brooks, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley, to name a few.

At the end of the day, Casie credits her success to her parents, Scott and Jackie Mason, who have supported her along the way. “My family is my biggest support system. They have always made sure to show how proud they are of my accomplishments every step of the way.”

When Casie isn’t working behind- the-scenes or anchoring on-air, she finds herself enjoying family, fitness, scrapbooking, and traveling. She is excited for an upcoming trip this summer to the Midwest, which will include going to rodeos and seeing the rural landscapes of Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado.
