NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) - In an RFD-TV exclusive, 2016 presidential candidate Gov. Bobby Jindal addressed rural voters and their concerns during the premiere episode of RURAL TOWN HALL. At his first opportunity to speak, the Louisiana governor addressed the important role agriculture plays in the U.S. economy.

"Agriculture is a very important part of our economy," said Gov. Jindal. "But I would also say the ability to feed ourselves and to feed the world is an important part of our national security."

    WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — A Hawaii family has won a place with the Guinness World Records for the world’s heaviest avocado. The Pokini family from the island of Maui received the Guinness certificate this week for the avocado weighing 5.6 pounds (2.54 kilograms).

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Farmers more than quadrupled West Virginia’s industrial hemp crop this year. Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt’s office says about 130 farmers grew 641 acres of industrial hemp in 2019, up from 155 acres in 2018.
