(NASHVILLE, TN — September 30, 2015) Rural Media Group has announced another substantial distribution agreement for RFD-TV. Beginning in late-October, RFD-TV and RFD HD will expand its carriage with Charter Communications throughout the remainder of its footprint in systems where it currently is not carried. With a goal of reconnecting city with country, RFD-TV will add key coverage in major markets such as St. Louis, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Sacramento among others.  

RFD-TV credits programming investments as a catalyst to its tremendous growth over the past 12 months. With the launch of Market Day Report, Rural Evening News, and new political series, Rural Town Hall, RFD-TV has seen substantial ratings growth. Market Day Report is the only daily, five-hour telecast devoted to agribusiness. As RFD-TV’s most watched weekly live news program, Market Day Report delivers “live” continuous coverage focused on the latest rural news, agricultural weather, real-time commodity market reports live from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade, and more. Recently, RFD-TV announced that it will be the presenting sponsor of the Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy, “We’ve Been Thinking Tour,” a terrific branding opportunity for the company and its affiliates.

In June 2015, RFD-TV was ranked as a “Best Bargain” cable network for the third year in a row, according to the 20th Annual Cable Network Evaluation Survey. RFD-TV has also seen ratings growth in M2M, Q2Q, and Y2Y time periods. Additionally, RFD-TV has also seen distribution growth, up more than 20% since 2013. RFD-TV’s flagship news program, Market Day Report has seen a steady increase since its early 2015 re-launch, up 10% since January and up 22% since summer of last year. Market Day Report is the top-rated weekly program for RFD-TV and RURAL RADIO on SiriusXM Channel 147 and continues to drive viewer growth. Airing weekdays from 9 PM – 2 PM ET, the newly revamped news program is the fastest-growing time slot on the network with more than 93% of the audience watching live. In addition, Market Day Report was recently named a finalist for the coveted 2015 CableFax Program Awards in the “Best Show or Series” news category.
