Fan Choice Winner Looks Back

Amberely Snyder Competes at THE AMERICAN in 2015. Amberely Snyder Competes at THE AMERICAN in 2015.

On March 1, 2015, toward the end of RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN, Clay Tryan walked, alone, from one end of AT&T Stadium arena floor to the other. It takes a while to traverse the length of the Dallas Cowboys’ home football field.

The notoriously unemotional three-time world champion roper was on a mission to meet Amberley Snyder. He wanted to have his photo taken with the RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN 2015 Fan Choice Exemption – a 24-year-old paraplegic college student who had just finished competing in barrel racing alongside rodeo’s most legendary icons.

Snyder overwhelmingly received the most online votes to win last year’s Fan Choice Exemption into the world’s richest one-day rodeo. The win led to new sponsorships for Snyder, a new FFA scholarship in her name and donations to charity of more than $50,000.

“I am so blessed for the experience I was able to have during RFD-TV's THE AMERICAN,” she said. “It was thanks to the fans that my dream became a possibility and thanks to RFD-TV that it became a reality.”

Submit your nominee for the 2016 Fan Choice Exemption, who could get to rope or ride on Feb. 28, 2016, at RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN, presented by Polaris RANGER, inside AT&T Stadium.
