We asked fans to vote for who they think Kaleb Driggers should choose for his partner when he competes at THE AMERICAN.  On the hour-long Road to the American show on Wednesday night, Kaleb Driggers announced the heeler that he has chosen to rope with in contention for The Triple Crown. If Driggers and new partner Brady Minor win The American on Feb. 28, they can win the $1 million bonus. Amy and Justin talked to both ropers. Here’s the interview! And guess who won our poll of partners? Dakota Kirchenschlager! Sorry fans, Brady Minor is in.

As one of three athletes to have won both the first two editions of RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN, presented by Polaris RANGER, Kaleb Driggers can win The Triple Crown. That means he’ll be roping in AT&T Stadium knowing he’s eligible to win the million-dollar bonus if he wins the team roping championship a third straight time.

The partners he won the first two titles with, Patrick Smith and Travis Graves, are already invited and partnered up. So Driggers had to choose a header. With a million bucks at stake. No pressure on this choice.

“I took a little break from roping for about a month and a half there after the regular season and the US Finals,” Driggers said. “Then I got back at it. I’m craving it again and ready to get some stuff done.”

“When you rope for a living, a thousand bucks is a lot and a hundred thousand is a lot,” said Driggers. “You’re going to have to do your job no matter what. That’s what I plan on doing, is backing in there with the same mentality I did the first two times, and hopefully I’ll have the same outcome.”

Get all the details on the Triple Crown every Wednesday night from now through Feb. 10, prior to The American Semi-Finals.

An interesting side note – Driggers also qualified for the American Semi-Finals as a heeler with Luke Brown, who is also already partnered. So he gets to choose a header for Fort Worth, too! We’re guessing some team ropers have been extra nice to Kaleb Driggers in recent weeks.
