Christina Loren, Meteorologist

Christina Loren, Meteorologist

Christina Loren considers it a great privilege to forecast the weather for the hard working people of Rural America who put delicious food on the table. She brings over 12 years of experience as a Broadcast Meteorologist to Market Day Report and Rural Evening News. "RFD-TV weather is different because instead of just offering a forecast that details the changing weather conditions for specific locations across the country, we tailor our forecasts to explain how the changing weather will influence U.S. agriculture. For instance, on any given day we can inform our loyal viewers of the impact that weather will have on emerging or mature crops, fieldwork conditions, cattle feeding conditions, etc."

Born and raised in Palm Springs, CA where rain is a rare occurrence, Christina studied satellite and radar imagery in order to let friends and family know whenever the prospect of rain was in the picture. Today she feels incredibly blessed to get to do what she loves for a living and is passionate about getting the forecast right to meet the needs of those who depend on her. Christina has been nominated for three Emmys over the span of her career and has climbed the professional ladder working her way up from small markets to major market news stations. Most recently she worked for NBC in San Francisco and prior to that she covered tropical weather for CBS in Miami. Before working in big cities, however, her most treasured times in television news were spent working for smaller stations in Bakersfield, Chico, and Palm Springs, CA.

Christina has dedicated a high level of commitment to her education earning a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Communications at California State University Chico where she also completed one year of Graduate work in Operational Meteorology. She then went on to complete a three-year program at Mississippi State University, achieving official Meteorological Certification. In 2015 Christina earned a Master's degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University. She has also been mentored and coached by some of the most insightful and distinguished Meteorologists in the industry.

When she is not studying weather patterns Christina enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, swimming, and taking road trips. She also loves spending time with her husband Juan and their three dogs.
