Maryland Residents take the "Ice Cream Trail"

Maryland Residents take the "Ice Cream Trail"

June 22, 2016

Maryland residents are celebrating National Dairy Month in a delicious way – by trying local creameries throughout the state. Chuck Fry, President of the Maryland Farm Bureau, says that dairy is an important part of agriculture and his personal history. Fry grew up on a dairy farm and would introduce himself to his classmates as the "ice cream farmer."

Maryland residents are encouraged to travel the ice cream trail, which doesn't only satisfy their sweet tooths – guests must answer 9 questions about the dairy industry at each stop. If they visit each creamery, his or her name goes into a raffle for a gift card to their favorite local creamery.

You can find the full list of creameries involved at marylandsbest.net. The contest runs now through September 23, 2016.
