Showdown Sunday at the Calgary Stampede

Showdown Sunday at the Calgary Stampede

July 19, 2016

Nashville, TN

It was a wet and muddy Showdown Sunday at the Calgary Stampede, but that didn't affect the excitement of the winners who each went home with $100,000. Tie-down roper Shane Hanchey was one of the competitors who got to take home the big cash prize. Hanchey is sitting pretty this month as he was the top earner in Cowboy Christmas after bringing back his horse Reata.

With their roots deep in the swampland of Louisiana, Hanchey and Reata were unphased by the mud. Their winning round of 7.9 added the Calgary Stampede championship to their already impressive list of accomplishments. Shane was also wearing purple to show his support for Baton Rouge and law enforcement during this sad time. Fred Whitfield came within one second of winning his fourth Calgary championship. Ryan Jarrett and Clint Robinson also picked up nice checks in the final four round. Watch as Amy Wilson covers the rest of the stampede winners.
