NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) The National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity is underway. This event is known to many as one of the most thrilling, testing, and advanced competitions in western sports. The NRCHA says, "Many cow horse enthusiasts describe their first Snaffle Bit Futurity experience as the reason they became hooked on the spine-tingling sport."

The futurity will carry on until October 1st, and will test the athleticism and skill level of 3-year old ranch horses from around the world. Needless to say, the caliber of competition is at an all-time high in Reno, Nevada, as well as the pay checks. When it's all said and done, the total pay out is expected to reach $1.1 million.

Watching these four-legged athletes work will show you just how much preparation has been put into their craft. Check out the video above as Amy brings us the results thus far!
