Roger McEowen: Timber Tax Issues

July 6, 2017

NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) RFD-TV’s “Market Day Report” hosts a weekly interview with Roger McEowen, Professor of Agricultural Law and Taxation at the Washburn University School of Law, and an affiliate with the Kansas Farm Bureau. This week professor McEowen discusses timber tax issues.

There are areas of the country where the timber industry is significant to the local economy, with unique tax issues of their own. Some common tax-related questions which arise for those in the timber industry include: What tax issues do investors in the timber business face? What exceptions might those in the timber industry receive? How are management and operating expenses taxed? What other tax issues does the timber industry face?

All this and more is discussed this week, in the video above!
