Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue hits the road tomorrow for a 5-state Farm Bill tour.

He will start out at the Wisconsin State Fair and from there will travel via RV to Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.

His schedule is packed with listening sessions, where Perdue hopes to learn what really matters to American farmers with regard the next Farm Bill.
Associates say that at the tour stops he intends to be more involved in the process of crafting a farm bill, something his predecessor left to lawmakers.

Perdue says, “We are committed to making the resources and the research available so that Congress can make good, facts-based, data-driven decisions. It’s important to look at past practices to see what has worked and what has not worked, so that we create a farm bill for the future that will be embraced by American agriculture in 2018.”
