NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Ranchers in North Dakota and Montana face tough decisions in the face of devastating drought conditions. Many have already sold off parts of their herds because of pasture and hay shortages. There are IRS rules that provide tax deferral opportunities to these ranchers, and in today’s Rural Money segment, Paul Neiffer, agriculture accounting expert with Clifton Larson Allen, explains how they work.
