Chris Young Donates $100,000

Country singer Chris Young is a Nashville-area native, but he lived in Arlington, Texas before he earned his record deal. That Texas connection to friends and family inspired the singer to donate $100,000 to relief efforts in the hardest hit areas.

Texas Monthly has put together a list of local charities that need help. Check out the links below.

The Texas Diaper Bank puts kits together for young families.

The Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi is accepting financial donations.

The SPCA of Texas is dedicated to taking care of hundreds of animals the organization transferred from shelters on the coast to safe areas.

To aid those with special needs, including those requiring medical equipment and assistive technology, donate to Portlight via PayPal.

Local food banks could also use your help.
