Don Williams, country music's "Gentle Giant," will be honored with a celebration of life ceremony on Wednesday, September 27 at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Doors will open at 4:00 PM CT and the memorial service will begin at 4:30. In lieu of flowers, the Williams family asked fans to donate to MusiCares or Music Alliance or a charity of your choice.

Over his career, Williams amassed hits like "I Believe in You," "Tulsa Time," "It Must Be Love" and "Lord, I Hope This Day is Good." He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. Williams died on September 8 after a brief illness.

    WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — A Hawaii family has won a place with the Guinness World Records for the world’s heaviest avocado. The Pokini family from the island of Maui received the Guinness certificate this week for the avocado weighing 5.6 pounds (2.54 kilograms).

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Farmers more than quadrupled West Virginia’s industrial hemp crop this year. Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt’s office says about 130 farmers grew 641 acres of industrial hemp in 2019, up from 155 acres in 2018.
