Country music legend Randy Travis stopped by a recent taping with Penny Gilley. The seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer appeared at Lil Red’s Longhorn Saloon in Fort Worth, Texas to record a segment for The Penny Gilley Show on RFD-TV. While he can’t talk, he is able to sing a bit.

“Everyone was just so touched by his appearance and his story. His heart is really into it and he was thrilled to be a part of the show. Randy wants to stay connected to his country fans and bring awareness to his foundation. He went away for a little while, but now he’s back,” said Penny Gilley. “Randy and I both share a vision and truly believe in “keepin’ it country.” We both were involved in a lot of events together “in the day” like Fan Fair and he always told me he’d like to do a show sometime and so we finally made it happen. I can’t tell you how thrilled he was with the reception he got.”

His wife Mary said that Randy never stopped fighting to get stronger and wants to give others inspiration. He also recently launched the Randy Travis Foundation, designated to provide support for victims of strokes and cardiovascular diseases.

“You just don’t give up, and I’ve often said to the doctor that God doesn’t read the medical reports,” Travis’ wife says in the FOX 4 News segment. She adds, “I think it was one of the Oak Ridge Boys [who] said, ‘Well, God’s not ready for you, and the devil don’t want you. Randy Travis smiled.
