It’s a wild life for one city girl turned RanchHer. Shanen Ebersole raises cattle with her family while tending to a herd of wild horses.
“They’re really inquisitive. If you stay real quiet and still, they’ll come see you. I just have a new favorite every day.” said Shanen.
FarmHer starts the day with Shanen’s daughters as they prepare their show cows by washing and brushing them. Shanen explains why she’s proud to raise their breed of Maine-Anjou cattle. Then, head out to the pasture to meet the 300 wild horses she cares for as part of a Bureau of Land Management program. Shanen graciously tends to these animals and it’s apparent both the horses and Shanen benefit from the land they live on.
