Melissa Eshelman has been helping on her family farm since she could walk. Now the operation is in her hands. Melissa credits her grandmother for kickstarting her adoration of livestock.
“As soon as I was big enough to catch pigs, grandma would put me in the farrowing crates to gather them for her. She taught me how to take raise animals and to love and care for them.” said Melissa.
Melissa didn’t plan on taking over the farm with her brother at such a young age, but unfortunately, a hunting accident left her father paralyzed and eventually those injuries took his life. Witness the strength of this brother-sister farm team on a tour of Iowa farmland.
