Pork Exports Having A Difficult 2019

U.S. pork exports face difficult headwinds in 2019.

U.S. pork exports are down 2-percent on volume and 6-percent on value. For exports to Japan, volume is down 4-percent, and value down 6-percent. The National Pork Board says the biggest issue with Japan was pulling out of the TPP, but there’s a new agreement in play and other key markets for U.S. pork.

The U.S. volume with Canada is up 11-percent, while pork sales to Australia are up 44-percent.
