Rory Feek Signs on with RFD-TV as Chief Creative Officer

You probably know him from The Rory+Joey Show on RFD-TV; or the country music hits he wrote and/or sang with his late wife as a musical duo act; or as the author of This Life I Live: One Man’s Extraordinary, Ordinary Life and the Woman Who Changed It Forever, a New York Times bestseller. A man of many talents who wears many hats, Rory Feek has also recently taken on the new role of Chief Creative Officer for RFD-TV.

“We are very proud of our primetime programming on RFD-TV, and we have been looking for a way the last several years to really bring that programming to the next level,” says Patrick Gottsch, Founder and President of RFD-TV. “With Rory joining our team as the Chief Creative Officer, I am confident that both Rory and his team will be the answer that we have been looking for. His creativity and storytelling will really resonate well with our audiences.”

RFD-TV is one of the few televison networks that actually have a value system attached to it,” he says. “That stands for something. Things like family and simple living and doing the right thing. Goodness and faith and hope and love. And Patrick and the folks here at the network truly care about Middle America. About the farmers and ranchers and the people in and around small towns everywhere.

Rory’s goal in his new position is to provide a hub for rural and urban viewers alike to find a place to gather, slow down, and share the timeless values and stories that unite us all. “I’m someone who, with my wife, has seen first-hand how having an authentic show on RFD-TV can change your life, your business, and inspire others,” he says. “This new role gives me the opportunity to help others experience the same thing.”

It also allows him to work with a network that shares his own values. “[RFD-TV] is one of the few television networks that actually have a value system attached to it,” he says. “That stands for something. Things like family and simple living and doing the right thing. Goodness and faith and hope and love. And Patrick and the folks here at the network truly care about Middle America. About the farmers and ranchers and the people in and around small towns everywhere. People that are often overlooked by most networks. It’s amazing what Patrick has done in the last twenty years, and I believe that the time is perfect to take what he and the team have built and expand it to include more music and rural lifestyle shows. Shows with comedy and heart. To take chances on things that most other channels might overlook.”

While he will continue to write books and play live shows on his farm and across the country, Rory considers this opportunity an expansion of his already creative storytelling, and he hopes to bring a variety of new narratives into viewers’ lives — from shows about homesteading and small farm life to comedy, cooking, and country music. “We have the greatest storytellers in the world in town, here on Music Row and in the surrounding communities,” Rory says. “My goal is to find and showcase some of the best stories and offer a platform for the world to see them. In Nashville, the motto has always been, ‘it all begins with a song’… but even before that, I think it all starts with a ‘story.’ ”

In addition to overseeing a great deal of the network’s creative department and programming from the Nashville Music Row offices, Rory will also oversee a large part of the production in a new studio and sound stage facility that’s in the works in his hometown community of Columbia, Tennessee. AND he has taken over our RFD-TV Instagram, “finding, capturing, and sharing our story together, from the inside out.”
