Food Insecurity Declined in 2018

The USDA says food insecurity declined in 2018. Data released this week shows 88 percent of U.S. households were food secure throughout the entire year, meaning they had access at all times to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle for everyone living in the home. But 11.1 percent of households were food insecure at some point during the year and 4 percent of that 11 experienced very low food security.
