Mississippi Reverses Plant-Based Food Labeling Law

Mississippi reverses its law on labeling plant-based foods, with conventional meat terms.

Politico reports the state instead proposes a new regulation. It would allow those terms, as long as they have “vegan” or “meatless” prominently displayed. The state was in a lawsuit over the original labeling law, but officials believe the plaintiffs plan to dismiss it, once rules are finalized.
