Cold temperatures, snowstorms expected in some parts of the country

Unseasonably cold temperatures and storms are expected throughout much of the country through the rest of the week and into the weekend. 

The Northern Plains and Northern Rockies are expected to be hit the hardest and by Saturday snowfall is expected in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska as a well as Colorado, Montana and Idaho. In some states, that snowfall has already started. 

Other parts of the Midwest and the Western part of the country are expected to be hit hard but not by the snow. Iowa and Missouri are expecting severe thunderstorms Thursday and a cold front is expected to blow through the Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Missouri and a separate cold front will come in off the ocean and hit Pacific Northwest.

Additionally, parts of the Northeast and Southeast have experienced heavy rain Thursday and that Nor'Easter is expected to continue to cause trouble over the weekend.
