Veteran in hospice says final goodbye to dog

A special reunion happened at the Hospice Center at the Raymond G. Murphy Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque over the weekend.

A veteran named John Vincent was admitted earlier in the week to the Hospice Center and wanted to see his dog Patch one more time before he passed. Because Vincent had no family in New Mexico, he was forced to put Patch up for adoption when he was admitted to hospice care.

“It was such a heart warming moment!” the center shared on Facebook. “They were so happy to see each other and to say their good byes. It was an honor to make this veterans final wish come true.”
