Just a few weeks after falling and injuring his pelvis, former President Jimmy Carter was back at church speaking to his Georgia congregation.
In his 45 minute speech, Carter spoke about life and death to the 400 or so attendees. Carter said he was worried after his 2015 brain cancer diagnosis he was going to die quickly.
“I obviously prayed about it,” he said. “I didn’t ask God to let me live, but I just asked God to give me a proper attitude toward death. And I found that I was absolutely and completely at ease with death.”
Carter only missed one week of Sunday School because of his fall and according to USA Today, he returned this week despite the objections from his Secret Service detail, family members and fellow parishioners.
