A moose that was bagged in September has officially been verified for a North Dakota state record. 

Rick Ellingson of Williston is the new record-holder as his moose measured 190 6/8 and weighed more than 1,000 pounds. The previous record was 166 7/8, which was set in 2012. 

"Ladies and gentlemen - we have an official new state record archery moose!" ND Bucks and Bulls, a Facebook page that highlights North Dakota's big game wrote. "Rick Ellingson’s monster taped out at 190 6/8 officially. Congrats Rick! What a brute of a bull!"
