U.S. has most affordable grocery basket

Americans have the most affordable grocery basket than any other nation.

That's according to a study by the American Farm Bureau Federation. The data found American consumers spend nearly 5 percent of their annual income on food, compared to high-income countries that spend four to eight percent of their income on food, low-income countries spend 50-percent of their household budget on food.
