Second round of USDA trade aid payment released

Second round of USDA trade aid payment released

Posted: Updated:

USDA releases the second installment of trade aid "round 2" payments.

The second tranche of the 2019 market facilitation program will begin this week. Those who raise "MFP qualified" commodities will now be eligible to receive 25% of the total payment expected, in addition to the 50% they already received from the 2019 MFP. MFP signup at local FSA offices will run through Friday, December 6th.

President Donald Trump tweeted his thoughts on more payments Sunday. He says,

"Our great farmers will receive another major round of 'cash,' compliments of China tariffs, prior to Thanksgiving… the smaller farms and farmers will be big beneficiaries. In the meantime, and as you may have noticed, China is starting to buy big again. Japan deal done. Enjoy!"
