SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Search and rescue workers and wildlife officers in northern Utah have rescued three Great Pyrenees puppies abandoned in frigid temperatures in the mountains, authorities said. Snowmobilers near Monte Cristo found the puppies Sunday hiding in an animal carcass, Weber County search and rescue crew members and the state Division of Wildlife Resources said.

NASA says that meteorites that crashed to Earth billions of years ago contains sugars, which may support the idea that asteroids lead to a possible ingredients for life.  In a press release last week, a team of international scientists from NASA called the sugars "bio-essential."

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials say chronic wasting disease has spread to Dunn County. The Department of Natural Resources said Friday that a wild deer killed during the 2019 archery season near Menomonie has tested positive for the disease.

Consumers say yes to ham this season. Demand is up across the US, as well as exports to China. That's thanks in large part to the Asian outbreak of African Swine Fever. The increase of export and national demand has pork processors running full speed ahead at 493,000 head per day, MeatingPlace reports. The all-time daily record was set in October of this year and was less than 200 head higher. As a result, American consumers will be paying a premium this year to put pork on the table.
