Colorado ranch managers face jail time after theft

Posted: Updated:

A Colorado couple was found guilty by a jury for stealing between $5,000 and $20,000 from the ranch they used the manage. The charge is a felony.

The charges were reduced as the pair was previously charged with stealing between $100,000 and $1 million from the Bear Wallow Ranch between 2012 and 2016.

Zane and Charla Farris' attorney claims the couple thought they had authorization to make many of the purchases while prosecutors accused them of using Bear Wallow Ranch funds as their own for several years. Both later admitted they were wrong to make many of the purchases.

Both Zane and Charla Farris now face one to three years in prison. They will be sentenced Friday.
