It was an impressive bounce-back performance for Hunter Cure as he takes round three of steer wrestling after a 3.8-second run. In round-two Cure was inches away from injury after what could have been a serious wreck.

“My hazer, Lee Graves, and I took about five minutes (Friday) when we finally got the right angle of both horses and the steer. We frame-by-framed it until we figured out where our deficiencies were and got up this morning and tried to work on those.”

Whatever the two worked on resulted in a round victory for Cure, who knows how important it is to have a two-time world champion hazing for him.

"You can't replace a two-time world champion steer wrestler, but also a man who's hazed over 100 steers in this building. So, I'm very fortunate to have him in my corner."

Getting a round win, especially after what could have been a disastrous round-two will go a long way for Cure.

“It feels good to actually break the ice at any point in the week and get your first check, and it’s pretty sweet following up a pretty unique run from (Friday night) to a first-place run (Saturday night). It’s kind of a daylight and dark kind of thing.”
