With an impressive 92.5-point ride Boudreaux Campbell won Round 6 and jumped into No. 2 in the world standings behind Sage Kimzey.
“It means a lot (to win),” he said. “I’m very grateful and blessed to be healthy and walk away, but my job isn’t done yet. I’ve got four more to get on.”
Campbell, who also sits third in the NFR average, said he remains focused on riding not the standings even as things get down to the wire.
“I put that in the back of my mind until the rodeo is over with,” Campbell said. “I ride as good as they do, and when I see them ride good that makes me want to do better. I feel good. I let two slip from me, but you can’t change the past.”
Sage Kimzey’s 89.5 ride was good enough for third Tuesday night and he also remains first in the average as one of two men with five qualifying rides. The other is Koby Radley.
Jordan Spears notched the only other ride of 90 or better Tuesday, scoring 90 on the number to finish second.
