Wrangler NFR 2019: Tyler Milligan wins Round 7 of tie-down roping

Tyler Milligan will always have night to remember as the first-time NFR qualifier stopped the clock at 7.5 seconds Wednesday to win Round 7 in tie-down roping.

“It was awesome, I don’t how else to explain it,” Milligan said. “It’s my first time here and this win is really humbling.”

Milligan edged out Adam Gray, who had a run of 7.7 seconds.

Although Milligan finished on top in the go-round, several men close to the top of the world standings also collected checks.

Tuf Cooper finished third with a time of 8.20 and currently sits at No. 6 in the world standings. Riley Pruitt took fourth and has quietly collected more than $83,000 at this year’s NFR to move to the No. 2 spot in the world and Haven Meged finished fifth Wednesday, he is currently No. 4 in the world standings.

Shane Hanchey, who did not place Wednesday, still sits at No. 1 in the world standings and Ty Harris, who won Rounds 5 and 6, is No. 3 in the world standings.
