Rural Media Group launches RFD-TV Now

Rural Media Group, Inc. is taking the next step in its direct-to-consumer strategy. In 2010, RMG was one of the first independent networks to launch a streaming service, The Country Club, bringing RFD-TV to new audiences across the globe. RMG is pleased to announce today that it has expanded the service under a new name: RFD-TV Now.

RMG partnered with Brightcove, the industry leader in video management, to improve its OTT platform. While The Country Club was only available on the Web and Roku devices, RFD-TV Now subscribers will finally be able to watch RFD-TV on their phone, tablet, connected and smart TVs. In addition, RFD-TV Now offers improved searchability, increased security, and added features such as the ability to “favorite” shows.

RFD-TV Now marks a significant investment by our company in the exciting, yet challenging, new digital era,” said Gatsby Gottsch Solheim, General Counsel of RMG. “RFD-TV Now offers consumers a direct connection to RMG’s diverse offering of traditional music and entertainment, western sports, rural, and agricultural content, and we have no doubt that the combination of our unique programming and wide array of distribution platforms will deliver significant value for our viewers.”
