The Farmer Veteran Coalition chapter in Arkansas is in its early stages but big plans are rolling out across the state. The president of the organization is Michael Sparks, who is still active military and also runs his own beekeeping operation, Honeycomb Ridge Farm.
When he started beekeeping he looked for networks and resources to aid his operation. He found the Farmer Veteran Coalition, but discovered that there was not an Arkansas chapter. Sparks decided to take it upon himself to start the local chapter.
Once he transitions out of the military he looks to provide a sustainable, trustworthy, and desired food source for his community.
