In December of last year, Joshua Dixon went out finishing. He probably had no idea that he would reel in the first ever state record for an invasive flathead catfish.

Dixon’s massive catch measured 50 inches long and weighed in at 57 pounds. He beat the previous record by 17 pounds!

He said that it took him around a half an hour to real in the monster from the Susquehanna River.

“It was really weird because I thought I snagged a tree. It didn’t feel like a fish but after a while, it was going crazy,” he stated, according to CBS Baltimore
