President Biden appoints Justin Maxson to Rural Development

We want to take a look now at some of President Biden’s appointments at the USDA.

We will start with Justin Maxson. The President named him Deputy Under Secretary for the office of Rural Development. Maxson served as the CEO of the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, which works to alleviate poverty and support economic justice in southern states,

Before that, he spent 13 years as president of the Mountain Association for Community Economic Development.

Farah Ahmad is slated to be Maxon’s Chief of Staff. She does have prior USDA experience, but most recently she served as the Senior Program Coordinator in the office of Consumer Education and as a Senior Advisor at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
