New “HogStop” feral hog contraceptive targets ability for males to reproduce

Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller is advocating a new tool in the fight against feral hogs-- a contraceptive bait called HogStop.

Yes, a contraceptive for hogs!

The bait targets the male’s ability to reproduce over time, which Miller calls humane. He says that the feral hog problem has reached a crisis point causing more than $50 billion dollars a year in damage.

Feral hogs can produce a litter every three months and Miller says that HogStop makes them one step closer to becoming an endangered species.
