Wildfire Warriors: Irish goats deployed to curb wildfires

Happy Fire Prevention Week!

A crew of ancient Irish goats and their herder are being deployed to help curb wildfire in Dublin, Ireland.

The 25 wildfire warriors love to eat gorse, which is a highly flammable vegetation that covers most of the hills. The herder calls it a win-win because it helps meet conservation goals, and the goats’ taste buds are satisfied.

She says that the old Irish ladies have a job to do here and are well able to do it.
