Western lawmakers release alternative to Biden’s 30x30

Lawmakers representing western states have revealed an alternative to President Biden’s 30x30 plan.

They say their “Western Caucus Principles” embrace policies, tools, and value recognized by rural Americans. They advocate for locally led conservation, active land and water management, and multiple use.

The chair of the Senate Western Caucus, Steve Denies of Montana says that the principles use science-based, time tested, locally driven practices, which will bring about meaningful conservation outcomes.
