Frustration is growing in the biofuels industry over what it sees as a lack of urgency in getting pandemic relief out the door. It has been nearly a full year since Congress approved $700 million dollars in aid and yet no money has been sent out.
The ethanol industry took a major hit during the pandemic as cities shut down and people started working from home. Congress approved money to help producers in December of 2020, but the new administration put the breaks on that aid the following month. It has been in limbo ever since and every day producers wait, anxiety builds.
