As Congress returns from Thanksgiving, a massive social spending bill will be their top focus.
The Build Back Better Act could include some changes to the IRS, and one Republican warns farmers could get caught in the crosshairs.
The plan would expand the IRS reporting requirements and target every worker who does not report their income on a W-2.
Tom Emmer of Minnesota says that it will impact ag communities and rural businesses, which are still struggling from the pandemic. The version passed by the House did not include expanded IRS reporting, but Emmer says that it could find its way back into the bill as it works through the Senate.
