Big Iron Auctions: used farm equipment has increased 35% in value

The price of used machinery is soaring, and there is no end in sight. Big Iron, who sells used farm equipment online, reports that it has seen a 35 percent increase in the value of all equipment.

While listings for used equipment are down, compared to a year ago, prices are higher. In fact, the site reports a 12 percent increase in money changing hands this January over last year.

Big Iron reports that the high values might be helping farmers make retirement decisions. Some who were considering it in the next five years, realize now might be the time.
