The nation’s public lands continue to be over-populated by wild horses. That is according to the Bureau of Land Management.
As of March, 82,000 animals were on its lands. That is actually a reduction from last year but is still three times the goal number.
A few factors drove the decrease, including support from Congress for removal and fertility control. Overpopulation causes a scarcity of food and water on the range.
