The ag labor issue isn’t the amount of openings but the difficulty in filling them

The ag sector has many job opportunities, but finding enough workers to fill them remains a challenge, that is according to a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

She told Brownfield Ag News the issue is not the number of jobs available, as there are plenty, but rather the difficulty in filling those positions.
Following the pandemic, there were two job openings for every unemployed worker.

Although this ratio has decreased in some areas, there are still one to one and a half job openings per unemployed worker.
