There could be leadership changes coming to Canada, as current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faces increased backlash even by his own party.
The Frasier Institute has been watching and says trade will be a big topic in the coming months.
According to Gareth Bloor, “Skepticism of trade is a huge question for Canada. Canada is somewhere in which trade, especially with America, just matters so much. Canadian Premiers have met in recent days and are weighing their options when it comes to potential U.S. tariffs.
Canada’s Finance Minister says that a number of them offered support for a strong response, with some suggesting using key exports like minerals, metals, and energy against the U.S.
The Finance Minister says that leaders have largely focused on reaching out to U.S. counterparts for further discussions.
