Leaders from across various agriculture organizations reacted positively to the announcement President-elect Trump will nominate former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to head the Department of Agriculture.  RFD-TV news spoke with several Ag leaders on "Market Day Report" to learn more about what Perdue's appointment will mean for the agriculture industry under the Trump administration.

Perdue, who was raised on a farm and trained as a veterinarian also served in the U.S. Air Force reaching the rank of captain.  In the 1990s, Perdue was elected to the Georgia state senate. In 2003, Perdue was elected governor of Georgia and served two terms.
