A feel-good story has gotten even better.

An elementary school student who has a shirt design in the University of Tennessee school store after his homemade Tennessee shirt was the butt of jokes from classmates on “College Colors Day” is now getting a scholarship to UT.

“In recognition of the fourth-grader’s Volunteer spirit, the university has extended an offer of admission for him to join the Class of 2032,” UT said on Thursday. “In addition, he has been awarded a four-year scholarship covering his tuition and fees beginning fall 2028 should he decide to attend UT and meet admission requirements.”

The student’s story was picked up nationwide earlier this week after a heartwrenching (turned heartwarming) Facebook post from his teacher.
