Rural Radio Broadcast Engineer

This position is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of broadcast television and radio equipment including cameras, switchers, video servers, audio, graphics, and radio equipment. The engineer will also assist in the operation of a satellite truck and remote production equipment.

Role and Responsibilities:

Perform regular maintenance and repairs on all studio, remote, and editing equipment.

Perform equipment installs, as well as, installation of updates and modifications on all studio, remote, and editing equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely manner.

Drive satellite truck to remote productions.

Assist EIC on remote productions.

Qualifications, Education and Skill Requirements

A minimum of 2 year technical degree plus 2-4 years experience maintaining and repairing broadcast equipment.

Must be knowledgeable in all areas of television production and familiar with all studio production equipment.

Computer operating systems knowledge is a must, networking skills a plus.

Knowledgeable maintaining non- linear media asset systems.

Must have excellent reasoning skills in order assist in troubleshooting problems.

Must have strong communication skills, team player and has a can do attitude.

Must be able to troubleshoot video servers, production switchers, production support equipment, cameras, and non-linear edit systems.

Must have competence in MS Office software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.).

Flexible hours/schedule, travel, and weekend shifts will be required.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (hour lunch). Extended hours may be required, including weekends/nights.
